Dealing with depressed people can really be difficult. They are usually tough to be around because they are moody, dismal and many times just want to be left alone.  Even though it's hard to be around them just remember they are suffering. These three tips will make the world of difference if you are looking to help them return to normal and feel better.

Step One – Help them change their diet. If they start eating well-balanced foods it will help the body absorb much needed nutrients and vitamins efficiently. Teach them to avoid processed foods and eat foods such as fruits, vegetables, fish and lean meats. Researchers say that eating foods rich in Omega 3 and 6 helps depression. Foods rich in Omega 3 fatty acids are fishes such as tuna, salmon and halibut, sea foods such as algae and krill and some plants and nut oils.

Imbalanced blood sugar and insulin can also cause depression so this should be avoided. Also, if you're dealing with depressed people have them avoid alcohol and other recreational drugs.

Step Two -  Exercise. Sitting and thinking of the things is bad for a depressed a person and usually just worsen their situation. Show them it helps to exercise at least 30 minutes everyday. Exercising helps a person recover from depression as it releases happy hormones into the body. According to specialists, aerobic exercise is best when dealing with depressed people.

Step Three – Show them how to take time out. It is very important to take out time to relax especially after a very stressful activity. Help them find a safe and peaceful environment such as the perfect spot in a beach or a park. Let the natural setting provide relief for their depression. Go out of the house and take time to relax in a variety places. Join social activities as these dilute the depression and can help a person forget the past and feel hopeful for the future.
